Rugby Trade Cards
Rugby has been played by many different countries over the years and in each
has been illustrated on a variety of trade cards. The following page show cards
from a number of countries and from different eras. These cards all show the
game of rugby. many of these are now difficult to obtain and can command very
high prices for individual cards. Most of these cards can be found in
"Murray's - Cigarette Card Values", if not here then you can ask your
own price. This is only a small portion of the trade cards that I have, and I
only have about 50% of what is out there, so if you have any to sell, exchange

These are "Baines" cards issued around 1900 in
shops. The best collection of these is held by the R.F.U. Museum at
Twickenham
N.Z.R.F.U. Provincial Unions Representatives 1975-76, set of
45 cards with a rugby question and answer on the back.

A very attractive set of 6 German cards from "Erdal"
I understand these to be from the 1927.
This is a modern set of cards issued by "Fosters"
in 1988, also issued as beer mats

I have very little other details of these cards.

These are cut out cards issued by Thomson & Co Ltd

printed in Spain these card may have been distribured in Italy in the
