The Matches...... East Midlands and Midlands Counties 66 points to nil In the opening week's play of the South African team.- defeat of East Midlands and Midland Counties. The visitors began their tour by scoring at Northampton and Leicester in the two matches score a total of 66 points to nil. These pictures from the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic News 6th October 1906. Yorkshire at Leeds - 34 points to nil By defeating Yorkshire last Saturday the redoubtable Colonists brought their English record to 187 points against 4 in a series of six victorious matches.
These pictures from the Illustrated Sporting and Dramatic news Oct 20 1906 Devon v South Africa - 22 points to 6 points This match was played at The Rectory Ground, Devonport. on 17th October, 1906. This was the 7th match of the tour and a score of South Africa 22 points against Devon 6 points more than doubled the number of points scored against the Springboks in there first 6 games. So far they had played 6, won 6, points for 187 against 4. As noted in the book about the tour "The CAROLIN Papers" their hardest game to date, with E. W. Roberts of Devon being the first player to score a try against the touring South Africans.
Glamorgan at Cardiff - 6pts to 3pts win for SA The Glamorgan team :- Winfield, Maddocks, Trew, Gabe, Morgan, Owen, Toft, Joseph, Neill, Brown, Northmore, Jones, Williams, Hunt and Thomas.

Scotland - 6pts to nil a win for Scotland The first defeat of the South Africans "Springboks" in sixteen engagements. Newspaper report states:- "Although the ground was unsuitable to the Africans style of play, and more than one of their man suffered injury in the course of the game, it was generally thought that the Scotchmen won the game on their merits last Saturday".
